Biography

One of the original Czech illustrators of the past half-century.

Since 1957 she attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where she studied in school of prof. Karel Soucek until 1963.

During her studies, she painted portraits, still life and acts using the classical oil painting technique as well as combined technique.

Katerina Cerna presents her works on numerous exhibitions both abroad and in the Czech Republic. Her paintings are in the property of many leading galleries and private collections. Her first major work „Spring in Paris“ is deposited in the National Gallery in Prague.

Katerina Cerna is a member of Association of Czech Graphic Artists „Hollar“.
